The patented profile presents one brand new level of security for the clients. Why?

The protection of the key profile from technical point of view is limited. After couple of years it is possible to create key blanks with the same profile, produced by companies specialized in the locking industry. In this way every locksmith can produce unlimited number of copies with the same key blanks. This fact increases the possibility of intrudes and decreases the level of security of the final consumer.

The solution of this problem is in the reliable protection and the uniqueness of the profile from manufacturer's side. Both factors make it 100% impossible key makers to distribute and sell key blanks, without authorization. With this brand new level of security, the protection of the client is achieved through the so-called Patent of the Trade Mark. Through the use of the patented name MLS (which is abbreviation of Mauer Locking Systems) in the profile of the key, a long life patent of the trademark is achieved.

Key blanks with the MLS profile are produced only in Mauer Locking Systems ltd. Their "production" from other companies is illegal and the people responsible for that can be taken under legal responsibility. Duplicates of the keys Mauer MLS and LOGO are made only in the factory of Mauer Locking Systems, if the customer shows the security card of the cylinder. Information about all the copies made is stored in a database in the company.

European Standards for Quality. (SKG, VdS, EN)

The standards present different requirements for the manufactured products- requirements for the dimensions, reliability in real situations(reliability through process of usage) , safety, strength, ease of usage, compatibility with other products and other specific requirements depending on the type of the products. Based on the requirements covered by the products, the quality levels are defined.

The products of Mauer Locking Systems cover the standards of the certifying laboratories SKG for the Netherlands and VdS for Germany. For every standard different marking levels are used. VdS uses two classes – class A(low) and class B(high level of protection). The profile cylinder Elite 2A covers class B concerning the reliability and the strength. SKG uses one, two and three stars, so the more stars are the higher the class and the reliability of the cylinder is. Certified by the Dutch laboratory SKG are the profile cylinders Elite2A, Family, MLS(with patented protection of the profile), Standard, Elite2. They achieve security level, corresponding to SKG**.

The tests have the main purpose to examine the functionality of the profile cylinders in extreme temperatures (from –20 to +80 ), the number of cycles, the key strength, resistance against fire, corrosion and burglar's attempt.
